Custom red elite battledroid figure inspired by the movie character

I have introduced the new red CIS battle droids in my last article. That droid series gave the CIS a more upgraded, more accurate, smarter, faster, and more independent droid army. But even among these brand new droids there were elite ones that could be give special orders, and special tasks. The CIS had several droid factories, but the elite red battle droids were made in the Geonosis droid factory. First time, before the Clone Wars, the red droid commanders were made here. They had the same characteristic that OOM-9 had. They also had a yellow hat on the upper head area, and a yellow circle on the abdomen, but their torso was red, other difference could not been noticed. We could only see such a droid in the movie, while that droid attacked Jedi master Mace Windu in the Geonosis arena. Windu defeated that elite droid commander by jumping over it, getting behind him. However the droid followed Windu's movement with his photoreceptors, quickly spinning around, firing towards the Jedi deadly laser bolts. For his doom. Windu managed to deflect one laser bolt back right into the droid, finishing out his dangerous elite droid opponent. After the Republic won the battle of Geonosis, they have the droid factory closed, so they would not be forced to face droids on the battlefields that would have been produced here.

Later, during the Clone Wars, the separatists reopened the droid factory, and resuscitated the red droid project. Thousands of red elite droids were hanging on the droid manufacturer lines partly assembled, and by the time Ahsoka managed to get in the factory, thousands of droids were ready to be deployed. Soon, they were deployed, when Luminara Unduli and Anakin Skywalker tried to lure the droids on the battlefield, to let the Padawans infiltrate the factory unseen. It worked, and several red elite droid squadrons ran into battle against the two Jedi masters and their supporting clone regiment. This new droid class has a new painting however. The yellow hat like painting on the head remained, but these second series of red droids were also painted with yellow at the elbow, the knee, the hip joints, at the lower arms area, and below the neck. Also, they had some circular yellow paintings on their bagpack.

A similar elite red battle droid squadron defended that Geonosian fortress, which was the first defense line for the second Geonosian droid factory. After the Republic was aware of the reopened droid facility, they sent out three clone regiments at once, to siege the dangerous complex, and destroy it. It was needed, because there was no use having it closed previously. The second battle of Geonosis was even bloodier, than the first one. All three assault teams, (led by Obi-wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, and Ki-Adi Mundi) were stopped at all three frontlines by the droid army, which was supported by powerful anti-air flak pods, geonosian warriors, and heavy artillery fire. The clones suffered heavy losses, the three Jedi generals were separated from each other by the droid forces, and Kenobi was injured while his gunship was shot down, and crash landed. If Ahsoka and Anakin could not infiltrate into the droid fortress, and if they could not help their clones get through this dangerous road block crowded with red elite droids, they would have been probably late, and couldn't have saved Kenobi and his men. The droids were about to kill them all, and when Anakin arrived to the scene, Kenobi sat back on the ground with relief, knowing that he couldn't save neither his clones, nor his own life in the dreadful droid fire.

The red elite droids were the top category droids amongst the CIS droid army. There were better droids in the other services of course, (commando droids, jet super battle droids), but comparing them with the other basic battle droid types, they were the best. Nevertheless, their production saw a very short period. First, because the CIS could not afford paying their mass production costs during the Clone Wars era, second, because the Geonosian droid factory was destroyed once and for all, thankfully for the self-sacrifice of Ahsoka Tano and Barriss Offee.
