Bao-Dur and the Remote are characters in the video game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords. The name "Bao-Dur" may be an homage to Baldur's Gate, a role-playing game developed by the same company that made the original Knights of the Old Republic.
Bao-Dur is an Iridonian from Iridonia, and a technician who fought under the command of the Jedi Exile during the Mandalorian Wars, hence his insistence as referring to the Jedi Exile as the "General". Bao-Dur is the inventor of the Mass Shadow Generator that ended the battle on Malachor V by completely obliterating the Mandalorian Armada and inadvertently killing many Republic soldiers on his own side of the battle, leading to a great deal of guilt later in his life. The Exile (who much later befriended Bao-Dur) gave the command, which sent massive echoes in the Force throughout the galaxy. Bao-Dur is trainable as a Jedi Guardian however it is exceptionally difficult to get him to initiate the dialogue that allows this. After the Mandalorian War, Bao-Dur used his extensive technological knowledge to aid the restoration of Telos where the Exile meets him again.
