Dooku and Grievous kidnap Chancellor Palpatine

During the Clone Wars General Grievous, commander of the Separatist Droid Army, kidnaps Supreme Chancellor Palpatine from Coruscant. While he attempts to escape with the valuable captive, the Republic fleet stop them. During a battle over the planet Coruscant, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker lead a mission to rescue the Chancellor, who is being held captive on Grievous's flagship. There they confront Count Dooku in a lightsaber duel; at the end of the duel, Anakin hesitate to kill Dooku, but at Palpatine's urging he finally cut off the Sith Lord's head. The Jedi free the Chancellor and attempt to escape the battle-torn flagship, but Grievous traps and captures them. The Jedi once again fool Grievous, free themselves, but after almost defeating the separatist leader, Grievous escapes from them, and leaves them behind on the seriously damaged Invisible Hand. But Anakin somehow manages to pilot the burning flagship to safety on Coruscant.

Anakin stuck between the Jedi Council and Palpatine

On Coruscant, Anakin meets Padme Amidala, and learns that she is pregnant. Anakin soon begins dreaming nightmares of his wife, as she is dying in childbirth. These similar visions, like he had of his mother before she died, makes his mind confused, he decides to prevent these visions from coming true, as he does not want to loose the other beloved woman of his life. His mind was also confronted by the two opposite sides, as both Chancellor Palpatine and the Jedi wanted Anakin to spy on the other. Palpatine, concerned about the Jedi's motives, places Anakin on the Jedi Council to be his eyes and ears as his personal representative. Meanwhile, the Jedi Council has begun to suspect Palpatine of corruption and orders Anakin to spy on him, while also denying the young Jedi the rank of Jedi Master out of additional distrust of him. Anakin stuck amongst the two sides, and struggling, doesn't know what to do.

Obi-wan Kenobi finds and kills General Grievous on Utapau

Clone scouts localized Grievous on Utapau, so Obi-Wan Kenobi is sent to the planet. There he engages the Separatist leader for a lightsaber duel, where General Grievous was equipped with four lightsabers. Obi-Wan defeats Grievous, who escapes with his wheel bike. However the huge droid army is still present, and threaten his life, but clone commander Cody arrives with the reinforcements, and start battling the droid army. So Kenobi follows General Grievous, and just before he could flee Obi-wan found the General, and killed him in a melee fight, by damaging his chest armor, firing into his inner organs with the General own blaster pistol. Grievous sets on fire, burning to death.

Palpatine reveals himself as Darth Sidious, so Mace Windu, Agen Kollar, Kit Fisto, and Saessee Tiin hurry into Palpatine's office to arrest the Chancellor

Meanwhile Anakin begins to grow distrustful of his fellow Jedi, because of the constant intrigues of Palpatine. The Chancellor keeps the dis-slept, confused Jedi under heavy pressure, who is very worried about his wife's life. Also, he mentions Anakin a power which can prevent death, or revive dead ones, but that ability can be only gained through the Dark Side of the Force. Soon Palpatine reveals himself to Anakin as the Sith Lord Darth Sidious, who has been controlling both sides of the war from the very beginning. Anakin first ignites his lightsaber, but cannot strike the Sith lord, because he does not want to loose the chance to save Padme. He struggles a lot, but finally decides to report Palpatine's treachery to Jedi Master Mace Windu, who immediately embarks a Republic Gunship alongside with Jedi Masters Agen Kolar, Kit Fisto, and Saessee Tiin, and they hurry into Palpatine's office to arrest the Chancellor.

Anakin Skywalker's fate changes when he aids Palpatine against Mace Windu

Meanwhile Anakin Skywalker's fate changes in this heart-breaking moments. He is sitting in the empty Jedi Council chamber, staring out the window. His thoughts are about to detonate his brain, he would do anything for Padme, but he cannot aid a Sith Lord - since he is the Chosen One! But he cannot just sit there waiting what will happen. He makes the terrible choice, he will help Palpatine, and heads into his office, where Mace Windu had already engaged and subdued the Sith Lord in a lightsaber duel, however the other three Jedi Masters are dead. The clever Sith let himself disarmed, although Darth Sidous could kill Windu after the very beginning of their lightsaber fight. Now he is lying on the floor, acting as a poor, old, innocent chancellor who needs help against the bad Jedi, who wanted to kill him for an unknown and untrue reason. Believing that Sidious is his only hope to save Padme, Anakin intervenes and literally disarms Windu by cutting off his hand, before he can execute Sidious, allowing the Sith Lord to kill the Jedi Master with deadly Force Lightnings, pushing him out the window. Palpatine takes advantage of Anakin's emotionally drained mind and submit him to the Dark Side and Anakin becomes Sidious's new apprentice, Darth Vader.

Anakin leads the 501 clone legion into the Jedi Temple to kill the Jedi

As his first command, Palpatine sends his new apprentice into the Jedi Temple to kill every single Jedi - the enemies of the Republic - but basically just to protect his own life. Vader kills all the Jedi within the Jedi Temple, Knights, Padawans, and Younglings alike, after leading the 501st clone legions into the Temple, making a sad, and barbarous massacre. Some sources mention Jedi master Shaak Ti as one of those Jedi, who was killed during the operation Knightfall, however her fate is not decided, or other way, very confused. She has already been killed 3 different ways. But the leader of the Jedi Archives, Madame Jocasta Nu was surely killed during this event. Another known victim was Jedi fencing drill master, Cin Draaling.

Senator Organa witnesses the murder of Zett Jukassa and hardly can escape the 501st clones!

All Jedi were killed who was stationed in the Jedi Temple. The once symbolic building is on fire, its chambers and corridors are now empty, at least no living beings remained in it, only dead bodies, clones, and Jedis. The smoke and the sounds attract the attention of Bail Organa, who arrives to the plot, to investigate, what happened. He witnessed one of the last survivor's death, when Zett Jukassa is being killed by the 501st clones. Narrowly Senator Organa can escape with his speeder from the clones!

Darth Sidious initiates Order 66, clones turn on the Jedi

In the other plot Darth Sidious initiates a pre-programmed directive within all clone troopers to kill their Jedi commanders. Ordering the clone to execute Order 66 all clones change their alliance with the ex-friend, and brothers-in-arm Jedi masters, they shoot them in the back, and kill them without hesitation, without mercy. Ki-Adi Mundi was killed by his Galactic marines during the Battle of Mygeeto, when he was leading them into battle on top of a formation. Although he notices surprised what will happened, he cannot save his life, after deflecting a few laser bolts into the traitor clones stomach he was hit, injured, cannot defend himself anymore, and killed. Luminara Unduli Jedi Master was also killed during the Battle of Kashyyyk, while she was protecting the wookie world from the droids. Commander Bly also received word from the Supreme Chancellor ordering him to carry out Order 66, who attacked his former Jedi friend Aayla Secura at once. Aayla seemed confused, maybe she didn't wanted to fight her friend, Bly, and made some steps forward, seemingly decided to run away instead, in the meantime defending her back with her lightsaber. Before the Twi'lek could ignite her lightsaber she was struck by blasterfire from behind; her troops from the 327th clone legion continued to fire at her body repeatedly after she had fallen to the ground. Her death is terrible, but one Jedi's death was even worst, if that is possible. Stass Alie was leading a speeder bike patrol on Saleucami, when her clone commander, Neyo, and his men opened fire upon her. Stass Alie's speeder was detonated, felt apart into pieces, crashed into the ground from meters, then landed in the swamp. Any of these three disasters could be enough to kill Stass Alie, but all together it was fatal, and horrible.

Order66 survivor Jedis

This happens everywhere around the Galaxy. But luckily some Jedi somehow managed to survive the clone attacks. Master Yoda felt the death of the fellow Jedis, so he was prepared for Commander Gree's treachery, so when the Elit Corps commander came to kill Yoda, he and one of his Kashyyyk troopers became shorter with a head. Obi-Wan also survived Cody's attack, and Master Quinlan Vos also survived a turbo tank/elite corps attack combo.

Yoda and Kenobi make a surprise attack on the clones that were guarding the Jedi Temple, and infiltrates the building to change the alert signal

After Obi-Wan and Yoda survived the extermination, and met up with Senator Bail Organa, who brought them to the Jedi Temple, they decided to set an alert signal in the Jedi temple, which warn the Jedi not to come back. While Palpatine reorganizes the Republic into the Galactic Empire, with himself as Emperor, Yoda and Kenobi make a surprise attack on the clones that were guarding the Jedi Temple, and infiltrates the building to change the signal. Within the Jedi Temple, Obi-Wan witnesses security footage of Anakin's massacre as Darth Vader.

Darth Vader slaughters the remaining Separatist leaders

But Vader was not there yet, he was already travelled to the volcanic planet of Mustafar, where he slaughtered the remaining Separatist leaders as his second memorable act as a newly born Sith, killing Wat Tambor, Nute Gunray, and many more as a thank you for the alliance, and a payback for their efforts in the Sith-ways.

Epic lightsaber duel between Obi-wan Kenobi and Darth Vader

The two remaining Jedi masters decides to stop the Sith. Yoda tells Obi-wan to confront and kill Vader, since he will be probably isn't strong enough to face the Emperor. So Obi-Wan visits Padme, who refuses to believe that her husband has fallen to the Dark Side. She travels to Mustafar to meet him, unaware that Obi-Wan has secretly stowed aboard. There she confronts Vader, when she realizes that Obi-Wan was telling the truth. Spotting Obi-Wan coming out of the Naboo ship, Vader accuses Padme of betraying him and uses Force Choke on her. That was his Sith solution of "saving his wife's life". Palpatine never taught him anything, never told how to save ones life, never taught him the Force Power Revitalize, he only learned how to hurt and kill others, how to be haughty, and how to be hungry for power, already planning to kill his master one day, and rule his new Empire alone. Obi-wan Kenobi must accept that the friend he had known and loved as a brother is gone forever, and had no choice but try to defeat him in an epic lightsaber duel.

Jedi Master Yoda vs. Darth Sidious

Yoda also having hard times in Palpatine's office. The old Jedi Master has to mobilise all of his abilities to repel Darth Sidious Dark Side Force Power, but they had not only a lightsaber fight, but Sidious Force Threw everything movable in the senate building, including the floating platforms. After an incredible large Force dose pushed them both down from a floating platform, Yoda felt down after desperately trying to hang on with his nails on the platform, while Sidious was lucky, and managed to climb back on top of it. Sidious ordered Commander Thire and his shock troopers to search the building, but they could not find Yoda, he escaped with the help of Bail Organa.

Obi-wan Kenobi vs. Darth Vader

While Obi-Wan and Vader engage in an epic lightsaber duel across the volcanic facility and over a river of lava. Finally, Obi-Wan gains the upper hand jumping on the lava riverbank, seizing the strategically better place, while Anakin remained on the lava, on top of a small debris, quickly approaching to a more dangerous section of the lava river. Obi-wan told him to give up as he has the high ground, but Anakin was to haughty to admit his defeat, and tried a very risky Force jump on Kenobi, who had to swiftly dismember Vader. Vader's torso slides down a bank of volcanic ash and bursts into flames, while Obi-Wan picks up Anakin's lightsaber and leaves him to die, sadly objecting him they were friends, Anakin was the Chosen One, and this shouldn't have ended like this. Meanwhile, Sidious feels his new apprentice's pain, and hatred, so immediately flies to the spot to aid Vader. Soon he finds his maimed apprentice, orders Commander Thire and his men to fetch a medical capsule, and till they arrive, Sidious applies an ancient Force power to stabilize Vader's conditions. As the capsule is ready, they lay Vader in it, and take him back to Coruscant to revive him. Sidious has Darth Vader rebuilt in black cybernetic body armor to keep him alive. When Vader asks for Amidala, Sidious tells him that she died as a result of Vader's anger. This revelation breaks what remains of Anakin's spirit, and he screams in torment.

The end of the Revenge of the Sith means the beginning of the New Hope

Obi-Wan escorts the dying Padme to the asteroid Polis Massa where he regroups with Senator Organa and Jedi master Yoda. Padme gives birth to twins, a boy named Luke and a girl named Leia, and dies. Anakin however knows nothing about his children. As a new Sith Lord, Darth Vader he is last seen at Sidious' side, along with the young admiral Tarkin, overseeing the construction of the Death Star. Obi-Wan, Yoda and Organa agree that they should be hidden and separate from one another, the Jedi will go into self-imposed exile. Leia is taken to Alderaan to be raised by Organa, while Obi-Wan takes Luke to Tatooine to live with his uncle Owen and aunt Beru. These two children means the New Hope for the Jedi, and the New Hope for the galaxy one day.
