Juhani
is one
of the main characters of KotOR1. He is going to be Revan's companion, and follows him
loyally till the end. However some gamers may doubt this previous sentence in two cases. First, the player couldn't or didn't want to reimburse her to the Light Side of the Force at Dantooine's the Dark Power emitting place, and hit him to death. With this he could gain some experience points (XP), but it isn't directly proportional to the fact that he lost a precious and loyal Jedi friend!
In the second case the gamer accompanies with Juhani for a short period of time, but on the rooftop of the Temple of the Rakata world he kills Juhani. Juhani wanted to protect Revan, and wanted to keep him in the Light Side, she did not let him to join the Sith like poor Bastila,
, who was tortured by Darth Malak till she joined the "bad guys". And now the turned Bastila continues the converting activity on the rooftop of the temple, which looks like a constant game between the Jedi and the Sith. This game has been started from the very beginning, and seems to go on till the eternity, as now Bastila wants to lure Revan to the Dark Side. Juhani and Jolee Bindo do not want to let it happen, they wanna keep Revan from going over to the Sith, in the last resort, with weapon.
Whoever wants to play it over on the Dark Side, needs to run amock at this point. He has to kill the antagonizing Jedi companions and friends. Then getting back to the ship he has to look in the eyes of the friends waiting him there, and has to explain somehow the missing Juhani and Jolee. Revan "explain" the situation in the Sith way: he ignominiously kills the remaining honorable
team members in front of the ship, which leads Revan back to his older ego of Darth Revan.
Many never know that Juhani could have been "saved" at Dantooine. I know a guy who surprised when I told him that "pony-tailed" woman would have been a well-trained, two-handed light saber wielder Jedi friend. KotOR 1
does not have too much Jedi companions, and we cannot train our friend to Jedi, like in KotOR 2 with the suggestive Exile Jedi, so without Juhani there only remains Bastila and Jolee, but when Bastila will be captured, we won't have a so strong friend, like Juhani could have been. So saving Juhani is not only a moral duty, but a great investment, too. This will profit many times during the combat situations, and in the exciting story line!
Juhani is a Cathar lady. The word "cat" can tell us, this species is a catlike race. Juhani's face is quite the same as a cat face, she has whiskers-like discolorations on her face, her ears are tapering and her eyes are also like a cat's. Also, she steps softly like a cat, her coordination is perfect, and she jumps on her enemies from a far distance. Juhani sometimes flied by me towards the enemy, and till the time I arrived to them with a Force Run, Juhani has already killed one. In the meantime she cries "I will be your doom", and jumps into the air, to put all her weight into her slashes, beating up those opponents, who dared to opposite her or Revan. Juhani is quick-tampered, it is very typical of her race. That was Juhani's biggest fear as a Jedi, she was afraid of can't controlling her emotions. She is quick to anger, sometimes she shouts out that you may think that you had hurt her. Then she calms down after a short time, but anyway, she
likes Revan so much that you are not able to hurt her with Revan. You will have the opportunity with Revan to help Juhani to control her emotions. Once, her anger had led Juhani to the Dark Side, her rebellious soul caused her to attack her Jedi
mentor, and master. Then realizing what she had done she escaped, she knew she was infected by the Dark Side, left the Jedi Order, and exiled to the ancient grove yard of Dantooine bathing in its Dark Power.
Sometimes she interrupted it, just to kill and terrorize the locals or to practice her saber skills on some poor mandalorians, whose
corpses lie all over in the grove among the stone tombs. One of the tasks of Revan's Jedi trial was to investigate the source of the Dark Side, and to solve the problem in the grove yard. So he found Juhani there, and we knew what happened, he killed or saved Juhani, but the problem had been solved. If he saved her, that was the SECOND time he did that! But Revan's
amnesia doesn't let him to remember he had already met Juhani in the past!
Juhani was born on the planet Taris. The tarisians considered the Cathars an inferior race, and because of that she participated many indignities. She soon became an orphan. Her life was sad and hard. His father was murdered by a soldier during the Mandalorian Wars. Juhani's mother raised her daughter alone, but she soon became ill, and died. They had large debts, so a man, who they were owe much took Juhani, and used her as his slave. General Revan leading his army in the war accidentally found and freed the young Juhani. The Jedis were some kind of an ideal great, true, moral people in Juhani's imagination. They were icons for her, and she wanted to be the same, and one day she wanted to become a Jedi. That was the reason she got into the Jedi Academy, however she was a bit old, the Force was
strong with her. But her headstrong stubborn nature was against the servile humble Jedi life, so later she deserted the Academy, and fled to that ancient grove where Revan saved her, second time too after her slavery.
Staying with Revan Juhani travels all around the world, and (if you spoke with her much, and learned her past then) accidentally met Xor the soldier, who killed Juhani's
father in the war, and now he dares to make an offer to buy the Cathar "animal" Juhani, to make her his slave. The vehement lady attacks the killer, and defeats him. But Revan's teachings has a result, Juhani does not kill Xor, spares his life, finally overwhelming her deepest
instincts, reaching the Light, returning to the Light Side, becoming a powerful and true Jedi Guardian.
Juhani became a celebrated hero, when she destroyed the Starforge with Revan, and awarded the Medal of the Republic for her heroic performance. And if we hadn't killed her foolishly at Dantooine, then we got an exciting life story, and we could met a nice woman and an interesting game experience.
Starting the New Year of 2009 some people makes resolutions. Many of them decide to arrange their thing differently, and to live their life completely an other way then previously. The New Year is always a great opportunity to start your things over with a clean slate. Juhani has made it. She had made a resolution, turned away from the Dark Side, returned amongst the Jedi, won against her anger, and lived
truly as a Jedi Guardian, even willing to die for the true cause on the rooftop of the Rakata world. However she is not my favorite character she has an interesting and educating story and has some really spectacular characteristics. (Juhani is wearing her original outfit in the pictures, what was her own traditional wearing. You can undress her, and can give her other clothings, like body armors, and accessories on her head, on her hands, waist, but THIS is her real outfit. Interesting, you can notice a stylized cathead, which is a reference to her race. She can wield two sabers (one in each hands), that is the reason why I put 2 blue lightsabers in her hands as she is a Jedi Guardian.)
