The Jedi Archives was a fathomless collection of ancient knowledge and research data on geography and culture, including starmaps of interstellar and planetary regions, hyperspace routes, relating information on every known species of flora and fauna in the Galaxy, and detailed analysis on specific civilizations were updated and stored here dating back thousands of standard years, collected by the Jedi from every corner of the Galaxy. The Archives served as an endless repository for data and artifacts from the very beginning. It contained great records on philosophy and manuscripts detailing the history of the Republic. Personal journals of over a billion quilanvos_aaylasecuraJedi were also held here. The Council often sent Knights and Masters out into the galaxy to recover dangerous artifacts, as well as to scout unknown worlds to add to the Archives' vast wealth of information. While on missions, Jedi such as Mace Windu and Quinlan Vos sometimes recorded their thoughts and turned them over to the Archives for review by future Jedi. Many of the more in-depth works on Force abilities were restricted to Jedi Masters; Padawans required permission from the Chief Librarian The archives also stored mathematical, engineering, science, and even warfare data. Works related to the topics on hyperspace and how to achieve it and construct engines and vehicles capable of such feats were among the blue-glowing Stacks.

Located in the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, the Archives was open at all hours and were accessible to all Jedi in need of information. While Jedi were welcome to scan or copy most any data in the Stacks, removal of any material from the Archives was strictly prohibited. Remote access to the databases was near impossible, with jammers built into the Temple's outer walls and firewalls in the database mainframes. These valuable data were always in danger, many wished to gain access to its knowledge, or even capture it all, including the Sith, the forever enemies of the Jedi order. Throughout the history, there were many events, where the Sith tried to infiltrate into the Archives, to get some data, or at worst to destroy it, to prevent the Jedi of benefiting from their databases. Raiding the Temple, the Sith marched in and killed several key Jedi several times in the history. The Temple and Archives were in ruins pretty often, and after the wartimes it was always took several years for the Galactic Senate and the Jedi Order to raise enough money to restore the buildings, and to begin reconstructing the knowledge lost, collecting for decades to have that once was available for them.

Before the war times small chambers were used to hold the Archives within the Temple, the jedi_archivesJedi Archives was expanded and a library of the modern era was constructed. The old Archives room was turned into a museum of Temple history, detailing the ever-changing layout of the complex. Featuring long halls of holobooks and displays of ancient tablets, the new Archives chamber remained the same until the Great Jedi Purge of 19 BBY. The new Jedi Archives was a two story chamber consisting of the Holocron chamber, the analyzing rooms, the library area which contained the holobook shelves known as the Stacks and data rooms filled with computers. Arranged into four long halls that all met in a large rotunda in the center, each of the halls had a central aisle that ran its length, with several tables topped with computer terminals that were linked to the main index catalog. Off of these main aisles were hundreds of smaller ones that divided the stacks. Each of the Stacks contained trillions of datatapes and datacards, carefully sorted and arranged into categories and subcategories. At the end of each hall were three doors which led out into another hall connected to the floor below; turbolifts on this level led to the analysis rooms and the library.

Amongst the four main aisles were Bronzium sculptures of some of the most famous Jedi Masters known to the Order; displayed at intervals along the stacks on stone pedestals. Among these busts were depictions of The Lost, the only Masters that had willingly left the Order. On each pedestal rested a plaque describing the great acts of the displayed master.

The Chief Librarian had an own private quarter in the Jedi Achives, who oversaw the Archives night and day. The Archives were equipped with private rooms used for study rooms, present information here for Jedi preparing for missions. A behind Jocasta Master Shaak Ti sitting in the backgroundJedi sitting by a terminal, studying some data on the monitors was an everyday act in the archives. We saw Master Shaak Ti sitting in the background when Obi-wan Kenobi discovered the deletion of Kamino from the databanks in the Attack of the clones movie for example. It happened when he tried to identify the origin of Amidala's assassin, who used a Kaminoan saber dart.

So happened that after over a millennia of peace in the galaxy, the Archives was tampered with following the Invasion of Naboo. Jedi Master Dooku, having grown disenchanted with the Order's reliance on the corrupt Republic aligned with the Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Sidious and deleted several records from the Archives that would prevent Jedi interference in his new master's plans. He also stole secret hyperspace routes for his own evil purposes for the upcoming war. After the incident, Grand Master Yoda investigated the scenes, finding that at least 37 additional systems had been erased, including Dagobah and Dromund Kaas.

In these times, Jocasta Nu was a bit overconfident but otherwise was known to be really friendly and helpfulJocasta Nu was the Chief Librarian of the Jedi Archives who was a bit overconfident in the completeness of her Archives, but otherwise was known to be really friendly and helpful. The Archives was directly run by Jocasta Nu, who organized a staff of Jedi scholars and Jedi archivists to maintain the Stacks and update them with new information. Additionally, the Archives employed several JN-66 and SP-4 analysis droids. These droids wandered the Stacks in the main hall assisting those Jedi in need of direction.

Jocasta Nu was once trained as a Jedi Consular, who were known to be better in Force power than in duels, and use their brains rather than their sabers, but there is little actual knowledge on her Force powers and lightsaber combat skills. It was seen she wielded a blue lightsaber in the Clone Wars, despite Consulars used a green one, and Ahsoka told the clawdite may has Madame Jocasta's shape, but not her skills.

As a young Jedi Knight, Jocasta Nu librarian outfit is a symbolic outfit representing her devotion to knowledge and learningJocasta Nu served as an archaeologist. Jocasta Nu stepped down after spending ten years as a member of the Jedi Council. She took up the mantle of Librarian and served as Archives Director for over thirty years. Her patterned robes bore the symbols of the Ansata, representing her devotion to knowledge and learning. Jocasta Nu's robes are of the Jedi historian design, one which is similar to Atris' from Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords. She knew Count Dooku quite well, and proclaimed him to be one of the greatest Jedi of all time. During her career, Nu trained many Padawans, including the future Emperor's Hand, Jerec, Olee Starstone, whom she tutored in the years prior to the Clone Wars, and Jin-Lo Rayce. During her position of Chief Librarian, she gathered a very precise and extensive knowledge of the galaxy. She often gave advice to Jocasta Nu szerint ami nem található az Archívumban az nem is létezikJedi Knights who were looking for information about the planets they were sent to on a mission. During these years, her confidence in the Archives was whole, claiming that if something was not in the Archives, then it did not exist. This statement was said when Obi-Wan Kenobi was unable to find Kamino in the Archives.

Around 22 BBY, the Jedi High Council assigned Jocasta Nu szerint ami nem található az Archívumban az nem is létezikJedi Padawan Ahsoka Tano as a library guard under Jocasta Nu, as punishment for her actions during the First Battle of Felucia. Nu gladly accepted the help, and was present in the library with Tano when Cato Parasitti infiltrated under the guise of deceased Jedi Master Ord Enisence. After observing Parasitti's behavior and becoming suspicious, Nu began to question the bounty hunter, only to be knocked out. The Clawdite promptly stole Nu's guise and her lightsaber, and continued to lead Cad Bane into the holocron vault. She was defeated by Tano shortly after, and Nu regained consciousness with no major injuries to speak of. Later Ahsoka returned there, after her lightsaber was stolen, she needed help from the experienced elder Jedi masters, so she profited from the advices of Tera Sinube, and Jocasta Nu.

Throughout the Clone Wars, the Archives was under tightened security, with the TSF, but this time it does not mean Telos Security Forces like in Kotor2, but Temple Security Forces, who had to constantly patrol in the building to ensure the safety of the data stored there. During the war, Dark Jedi Trenox attacked the Temple attempting to steal a holocron from the shelves. Interestingly Anakin Skywalker was able to kill Trenox, saving Madame Jocasta, and the data, but the Jedi believed that at least one holocron was taken from the Stacks.

Ironically, later, in the conclusion of the Clone Wars new Sith Lord leading the 501 clone legion Anakin Darth vader returned to the temple and into the archivesDarth Vader returned there, marching into the Archives, flanked by the 501st clone trooper legion, leading the invasion and destruction of the Temple. Sensing the fate that would soon befall her collections, Jocasta Nu dutifully summoned her last Padawan, Jin-Lo Rayce to secret information from the Archives offworld. Taking the underground tunnels out of the Temple, Rayce managed to survive, founding the Agents of Ossus as a way of protecting the information until the Order could be rebuilt. She remained within the Archives, where she confronted Darth Vader.

Anakin-Darth Vader demanded that Chief Librarian Jocasta Nu open the vaults and give him access to the Jedi beacon. Refusing to do so, Vader impaled Madame Nu, killing her. Shocked, the Jedi studying amongst the stacks ignited their lightsabers and attacked Vader and his troops. As Vader slew droves of Jedi, he ordered his troopers to secure the Archives and all its information. Outraged, the surviving Jedi turned their weapons and Force abilities on the Stacks themselves, destroying countless centuries of information, to prevent the Sith capturing them. This desperate act was seen in the game Battlefront 2, where there is a mission when we have to stop the raging Jedi knights destroying the valuable stacks. However, the Sith had the upper hand, managing to slay all the Jedi and save several shelves of data. Once the Temple was secured, Vader turned the data over to Darth Sidious, who entrusted Armand Isard to recover any valuable data from the shattered font of information and history. Madame Jocasta Nu's body was found by Master Kenobi and Grand Master Yoda later, when they returned to Coruscant. When the Galactic Empire emerged, official records compiled by Sate Pestage stated that Jocasta Nu was executed for harboring information that threatened the Empire and its citizens.

The character of Jocasta Nu was created for the Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones, where she was played by Alethea McGrath, an actress who also voiced her in the Revenge of the Sith video game, in which she is killed in a cut-scene by Darth Vader. She is voiced by Flo DiRe in Star Wars: The Clone Wars TV series, and was synchronized into Hungarian by Ms. Eva Timar. "Jocasta" is a Latinized form of a Greek word. In Greek mythology, Jocasta is the mother and wife of Oedipus.

When designing the Jedi Archives, George Lucas' team studied some real library_italy_milanolibraries, and used their specialties to create his own. The archives needed to be a two-storey long hall, with book shelves on the two sides. So it can be a good start to use the appearance of the Milano library. It has to be a large interior, a tall room, and it is needed to have some computer terminals, and/or working tables, where the Jedi can study the materials, and use the computers, so the library in Rome Italylibrary in Rome, Italy can be a good start, but the tables were moved in the middle, and turned 90 degree vertical. Also, the Archives had to have some sculptures, or rather busts of famous Jedi knights, so in the library in ireland dublinDublin library, in Ireland, which gave the best alternative most of all, as a conclusion from all of these. The appearance of the Jedi Archives in Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones is an almost exact digital reconstruction of the Long Room of Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland. Its imitation extends to the busts of the Lost Twenty which, in Trinity Library, are busts of alumni, including writer Jonathan Swift.
