Custom figures, custom collections, and fan art

Adam Szente, fellow collector friend is the first guy here, who dared and was able to write his own intro, telling us how he was befriended with the Star Wars and how he became a collector. Adam is a smart, precise, and innovative customizer, I especially enjoy those visual upgrades, that he makes to make his projects more spectacular with special effects. Besides his intro, you will find an explanation, where Adam tells what figures were used to create these custom figures, that he wanted to make from better heads and parts. Take a look at his work. Thanks Adam.

How I became a FAN
I have been a Star Wars fan for approx. 13 years! I became a fanatic when I was in the elementary school, when I was 12 years old, or so. One of my class mates got a Darth Vader action figure for his birthday, and proudly told me about this present. I did not know who was Darth Vader, however. He briefly told the story, and I liked it soo much! So I watched the famous trilogy a few days later, (recorded on on VHS tape), and I was amused from that point! I bought several figures, books, and the original Trilogy film! A few years passed by, and the Prequel started with the Phantom Menace, which was a great sensation of course, I loved it, although I felt the old Trilogy still better for me. No matter those "old fashioned" weapons and vehicles, and that "old school" style and feeling, the new trilogy was not so cool for me than the old!

I did not overdo collecting the figures, first of all I could not afford that, (but my parents gave me plenty enough, which were many toys, but still not a collection), and secondly, I did not have enough room, time, and energy to build a larger collection. I have about 70 figures, from what approx. 20 is those muscular POTF monsters from my childhood, that everybody knows! The remaining 50 are new, better articulated figures, which I prefer better, and I wanna collect my favorites from these kind of figures!

Luke Skywalker Pilot

contents:
- 2009 the legacy collection Luke Skywalker Snowspeeder Pilot (torso)
- 2004 the original trilogy collection Luke Skywalker Dagobah Training (head and neck)
- 2006 vintage saga collection Luke Skywalker x-wing pilot (hand and gloves)
- Plo Koon (blue lightsaber)

I made this custom figure, because I prefer the Snowspeeder outfit most of all from the other kinds of pilot gears, mostly because of the grey boots, and the thicker materials. Additionally, I like the X-Wing pilots' black gloves, so I applied one of those, too. But my most important reason was: there is no authentic Luke heads on the originally fabricated figures, from what the least bad is perhaps that Luke head, that I chose! The lightsaber is hanging on the belt, because I made a special hook for both, so they can be attached together.

Luke Skywalker Jedi Knight:

contents:
- 2008 the legacy collection comic pack emperor Palpatine clone & Luke Skywalker (torso)
- 2009 G.I.Joe Rise of Cobra Conrad Duke Hauser (hand and gloves)
- silkband (mask-scarf and the "skirt" under the belt)

If I know well, there were not released any Luke figures, that illustrated him as the servant of the Dark Side, from the downfall of the New Republic era ! So I handmade one, from my own imagination. The figure is not typically a "Sith" Luke, rather a Luke who was known from the comics, where he fought against the clones of Palpatine! That is why he was titled as a Jedi Knight, not a Sith!
